Have I mentioned lately how much I love photographing families?! Now add Greenhouse Family Photos to that! Kat & Patrick along with their adorable little boy, Zach, joined me for a family session at McIntire’s Garden Center. This was my second time photographing this sweet family, and it was so much fun catching up with them!
If you’ve never been to McIntire’s in Georgetown, TX, plan a weekend trip ASAP! They are always so helpful and have the best plant selection around. I love this location for family photos and was so excited when Kat wanted to do something a little less traditional for her session. Not only does the greenhouse offer a gorgeous backdrop for photos, it’s a great place for little ones like Zach to be curious and explore.
Kat, Patrick, and Zach are very laid back and are just the sweetest family. We let Zach do his own thing and wander around the greenhouse. Giving littles choices during your session is one of the best ways I’ve found to make them feel comfortable. I’ve also found that letting littles be little is the best way for families to enjoy a stress-free session. It also produces photos that really show what your babes are like in this stage. Peep how excited Zach was to jump in the puddles!
Kat had worked so hard to put together the perfect wardrobes for this session. Then, every woman’s worst photography nightmare struck the day of the shoot. After an unfortunate incident involving bleach, Kat called me in a panic. We FaceTimed so I could show her the options in my client closet, and she ended up loving the dress she chose (the Haven if you want to wear it too!).
I’ve never been more grateful that I’ve invested in a client closet! I opted to stock up on pieces to make things easier for my clients, and it has definitely paid off. It takes away the stress of trying to find the perfect outfits for a session, especially if you’re going for a look that isn’t necessarily what you’d wear everyday. Pieces are carefully curated to suit my clients needs, and in Kat’s case, it worked out perfectly! While this was a little different than what she originally had in mind, I love how it all came together.
It’s standard for me to take photos of moms and dads individually with their babies, but Kat requested that I also get photos of each of them individually which I thought was so special! Often times it feels like we can lose ourselves in being parents, spouses, employees, all the things. I loved getting to document each of them in this season of life.
Kat, Patrick & Zach, it was great getting to see the three of you again! Thank you for allowing me to document your beautiful family.
