Austin Maternity & Newborn Photographer

you can call me

Jilly, Jill, J- whatever floats your boat.

I’m a wife, fur mama {with serious dreams of being a stay-at-home dog mom}, and professional multi-tasker.

I’m an Austin native with a deep love for Texas and this beautiful city. I choose experiences over things which means my house is less than Pinterest worthy but my suitcase is almost always packed. I’m happiest in the mountains. Hiking beneath the golds and yellows in the midst of peak foliage is what makes my heart sing.

My husband and I make life decisions by flipping a coin- yep, even the big ones, which has included buying a house and moving to a small town where we didn’t know a soul. Country music, baseball hats, and flamin’ hot cheetos make my list of faves, and if you love puppies, we’ll be friends forever.

Do you know the ones I mean? The everyday, ordinary ones. Going to the farmers market in the fall. Laying on a blanket in the park in the summer. Planting flowers in the spring. Through photography, I learned how beautiful it is to savor these slow, simple, in between moments. The ones that disappear almost as quickly as they happen but that are often the most meaningful.

Your session is all about telling your story, so it should feel like you. One of my favorite things is incorporating something special to you into your session, whether that's a meaningful location or an activity your whole family loves doing together. Let's hang out and document it all, the moments that make up your life. The jumping, snuggling, twirling barefoot, little kicks in your belly, giggles, bandaid-covered knees, tiny little hands that are just a bit bigger than they were yesterday. You will never regret choosing to freeze-frame this time.

When I began taking clients, my desire to document stories only grew. I've never been interested in simply documenting pretty pictures. If you don't recognize yourself or your life in your photos, what's the point of our time together?

When I first picked up a camera, it wasn't with the thought, "I should start a photography business". I simply wanted to remember the moments (and the faces) that made up my life.
